Where do we depart?
We depart from Carlingford Marina. When facing the main building, head to the gate on the right (in front of the office) and our boat ‘Discovery’ is the first boat moored down on the left.
How many passengers are onboard?
We are licensed by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine to carry 12 passengers and three crew.
Is there a toilet on board?
Yes
Is the boat suitable for prams/buggies?
Yes
Is the boat suitable for wheelchairs
Yes
Our boat is wheelchair accessible to normal sized wheelchairs
We are not accessible to extra wide wheelchairs – Please contact us to make an enquiry
Wheelchair brakes must be put on following access on to the boat
Are your tours suitable for children?
Yes, our boat is very safe for children. The sides of the boat are approximately high from the deck with handrails around the full way. The entry/exit door can only be opened by a member of the crew and must not be tampered whilst at
sea.
Can I take a pet on board?
Yes, pets can be taken on our tours but must remain on a lead and under the control of the owner
Do you run a trip to see Finn the Dolphin?
We run boat trips out as far as the lighthouse, taking in
the Greenore area.
Finn seems to love the backwash from our boat and usually
comes over to say ‘Hello’
It’s all up to Finn, but we must be mindful to let him decide what and where he wants to go.
He is a wild dolphin and that’s why we love him and must
respect him.
Do you sail to Warrenpoint?
We sail up Carlingford Lough if we have enough passengers who wish to do so.
Do you offer private charters?
Yes, we can do private charters.
We can offer the typical 1.5hour tour OR we can offer a longer period to enjoy Carlingford Lough at a slower pace.
Some group charters prefer to stop off at Warrenpoint and enjoy a meal or a few drinks and get back on board to continue the trip down
the Lough
Do you have tours where people can swim?
By prior request on private tours only at full tide within Carlingford Harbour. Swimmers must be proficient at swimming and must
use the lift at stern of the boat for access and egress to and from the boat.
What happens if a tour is cancelled due to bad weather?
If the tour is cancelled due to bad weather a full refund or transfer to another trip of the same value will be offered.
Are there lifejackets on board?
There are lifejackets onboard for all 12 passengers and crew in the event of an emergency.
Lifejackets are not mandatory for adults to wear on a boat this size, however, lifejackets are stored onboard for every individual. Our
crew will ask adult passengers if they wish to wear one before departing.
Lifejackets are mandatory for children to wear and must be
fitted at the marina gate prior to boarding the boat and must wear until return to the gate.
Do you supply fishing equipment?
No, we do not supply fishing equipment
Fishing groups must provide their own
We can supply fish boxes
Do you supply food onboard?
No, we do not supply food onboard, however passengers are free to bring their own food and drink onboard
Hot drinks are prohibited in case of spillage during the journey
